We use machines and experience the differences robots and automatons have made in our daily lives. We can see the obvious effects of automation in our everyday lives, from robots in factories, to landing airplanes. These robots are slowly becoming more and more sophisticated.

Robots used to work in factories, doing repetitive jobs in factories. Humans used to think robots would not be able to do skilled labor. However, robots are able to do this, because many jobs are different steps and different processes for different situations. This allows a programmable algorithm to be created to perform steps and consider different variables, allowing the machine to perform new and old jobs with a higher efficiency than humans. Many robots have already begun learning different subjects. Some different AI programs are able to learn and adapt quickly to a set amount of rules. This shows that these robots and machines are already outperforming humans in many different ways from jobs to board games.

This change in production and jobs with automatons playing key roles can already be seen. Factory jobs have slowly been replaced by robots that are more efficient than human workers. This change increases productivity, as the robots are more efficient, creating the companies more revenue, but destroying jobs for humans. Although the gross revenue has been constantly increasing at a great rate, the wages of the workers and hours worked has been decreasing. This trend shows a greater human reliance on robots to help perform certain tasks. If this trend continues, many people will not have jobs and robots will take over most industries. These robots are already learning and taking over jobs. Now, robots help pilot planes, diagnose medical problems, and perform factory work thoroughly.

The outcome can have a positive or negative effect. If humans can create a utopian society where others won’t have to work and still function normally, it would benefit humans. We could have a perfect society where none have to manually work, able to use our brain power to help others. This could improve both the human race and individual lives in a new society. If robots and machines were owned by corrupt humans and the world was ruled by these people, many problems would occur and arise. Although this topic might seem like the outcome is very far away, robots and machines are already all around us. Our reliance on these machines is only growing.
