Koenigsegg is a Swedish car company that produces supercars. They have made some of the worlds fastest supercars. For example, the Agera RS. The Koenigsegg Agera RS is the Agera R’s “big brother.” The Agera RS was built to be the latest and greatest model by Christian von Koenigsegg. The recent cars have been more focused on making cars outstanding on the track, but they still run perfectly on the street.
The Agera RS was built with many advancements from the previous Agera R and S models. Some of the advancements include an all-new front splitter optimized for the track, advanced lightweight sound insulation, side skirts, front winglets, advanced dynamic underbody flap system and a dynamically active rear spoiler for added down force.
The engine in the Agera RS is a Koenigsegg twin turbo aluminum 5,0L V8 with four valves per cylinder, double overhead camshafts. This allows the RS to out-perform many cars on the track. There is also a carbon fiber intake manifold with optimized intake tracks and Tig-welded ceramic coated 0.8 mm wall thickness Inconel exhaust system manifold with merge collector.
Christian was looking to make a predecessor to the Bugatti Chiron, which set the world 0-400-0 (kph) speed record in September of 2017 in 42 seconds. The Koenigsegg Agera RS then came and smashed that record with a time of 36.44 seconds! That means that the car went from 0 to 400 kph and then back to 0 in that amount of time.
The RS is a magnificent car that will outperform many cars on the track. It is also a perfect street car. Well… it’s not street legal when stock, but can be upgraded to become legal. While it is not illegal to own a Koenigsegg Agera RS, the US street regulations don’t allow the RS on the street but that won’t keep people from purchasing one.
