Happy Death Day is a new scary movie that came out on Friday the 13th 2017. This movie was filmed on the campus of Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. The director of this horror film is Christopher B. Landon, the writer of this film is Scott Lobdell, and the producer is Jason Blum. This movie is about a college student named Tree Gelbman that has to relive the same day over again until she can find out her killer’s identity. At first she doesn’t know what is happening and she thinks she is going crazy, but then after a few times of waking up in the same day she starts to realize what is going on and that she needs to figure out who her killer is and why they are killing her, so she starts making a suspect list to try and figure it out but that doesn’t work. The main character is played by Jessica Rothe who starred in the musical movie La La Land .

Many people and critics thought that it very much mixes the famous movies Groundhog Day and Scream. The original name for the movie was Half To Death and it was going to be a psycho killer couple killing the main character together, but the director decided it didn’t work for him. So he changed it to Happy Death Day instead. On October 23rd Happy Death Day grossed over $41.3 million with sales in the U.S. and Canada alone. This movie has grossed about $54 million worldwide. The budget for this movie was $4.8 million.

The production company is Blumhouse Productions.  Christopher plans on making a sequel to continue Tree’s story after the big plot twist.. Happy Death Day is a very interesting murder mystery. The movie only took two days to film the scene of her waking up repeatedly after dying over and over again. This film was first announced in July of 2007 but it took a long time to cast the roles for the movie. This film has an approval rating of 68%. Although this movie has some bad language and violence this is a very fun and interesting movie to go see this time of year.
