Ghosts are known to be dead spirits that are almost or completely invisible. These ghosts are generally fantasy or horror creatures. Many have claimed to see ghosts but there hasn’t been a true sighting to this day. However, the Stanley Hotel has footage of a figure roaming around their property. This strange sighting has caused many experts and previous visitors to investigate this topic. Located in Estes Park, Colorado, the Stanley Hotel is one of the most famous hotels in all of America. This prestigious 142 room Colonial Revival hotel has stunning mountain views, rooms such as presidential and deluxe suites, and contains lots of history. However, the reason that brought this hotel to fame isn’t the design or the luxury, but it is the random events that always seem to occur.

The founder of this iconic hotel was Freelan Oscar Stanley. He opened the doors on the fourth of July in the year 1909 shortly after he began working on the project. A terrifying and random event took place in 1911 when Ms. Elizabeth Wilson, a housekeeper, was electrocuted in room 217. The Stanley hotel is still known as a hotbed of paranormal activity to this very day. Lights have turned on and off and clothes have unpacked themselves.

Writer Stephen King wrote a book named The Shining which was inspired by his one night stay at the Stanley Hotel. In the book, he stated that he was one of the only people there. Also, it seemed like God had placed him there to hear random noises such as music echoing down the empty halls. That night, King had a dream about his son getting chased by a fire-horse in this “haunted hotel.” Soon after, he woke up sweating. This event was the reason for his book.

This makes the ghost theory sound even more real. The pictures the Stanley hotel security cameras have recorded show a translucent figure that is the shape of a ghost. “I really like this photo assuming it is not doctored,” stated Ben Hansen, a former FBI agent. This shows that real certified people actually may believe in this ghost theory that is currently developing at the Stanley hotel.

Although a ghost has never been officially sighted before, this unique event has come very close to being the first ghost sighting ever in the history of the world.
