Cute Korean Cafés!

Cute Korean Cafés!

It’s a given fact that Korea is filled with cute things – but what about cute cafes? Yes, Korea is chock full of cafes and here are the top ten on my list.

  1. 내가만든미케익 (Nae ga mandeun mi cake) – Location: Hongdae – This cute cafe is a bakery. You order your own cake shape, then you can order things like frosting, fruit, candles, fondant, candy, and other cute cake toppings to put on it. It’s making your own cake, minus the baking and the mess you have to clean up!
  2. Bau House Dog Cafe – Location: Hapjeong – You heard it right – a DOG CAFE. Korea is full of them. At this cafe you can purchase food and drinks off their menu, as well as food and drinks for your furry friends. It’s the perfect place to cuddle.
  3. Ding Dong Cafe – Location: Hongdae – It’s a cafe full of compasses and old maps strewn about the café and clocks set at all time zones. It’s themed very travel – y, and is best known for its delicious brunch as well as it’s adorable setting.
  4. Cafe Blue Fairy – Location: Hapjeong – Not for the faint of heart – this is a cafe full of walls and walls of dolls. Dolls. BJD (ball jointed dolls) dolls are eerily beautiful and delicate. The cafe is adorable, and so is its logo, a silhouette of a few doll children. In the cafe, you can play with the dolls if you like – or if you don’t like, your choice.
  5. Capi Capi Loom Loom Cafe – Location: Sungshin Women’s University – Ever heard of the cute Rilakkuma bear? Well this cafe is literally a Rilakkuma store, but with food and drinks on the menu and adorable seating nooks full of stuffed animals you can cuddle with. Need I say more?
  6. Thanks Nature Cafe – Location: Hongdae – Two sheep. Real, alive, breathing sheep. Available to pet. And watch. Yes. Combine that with amazing waffles – what do we have? A perfect cafe.
  7. Hello Kitty Cafe – Location(s):  Hongdae, Hyehwa, Shinchon, Throughout Seoul – HELLO KITTY EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE EVERYTIME. Hello Kitty is a famous cat, with her own cafe, apparently. Her face is everywhere – from the furniture to the foam on the lattes.
  8. 프린세스 다이어리 (Princess Diary) – Location: Ewha Women’s University – Princess Diary? Yes, in this cafe, you can rent huge, fluffy ball gowns, traditional Korean dresses, wedding dresses, evening gowns, and accessories like tiaras, crowns, headpieces, gloves, and other royalty must haves. After drinking your beverage, you can participate in various photoshoots in the cute sets created for that very purpose.
  9. Molly’s Pops – Location: Hongdae – Molly’s Pops is all about fun, funky flavors of milky, icy popsicles. Some flavors are Cheddar Cheese, Yuja Citron, Brownie, Blueberry Yogurt, Squid Ink, Chocolate, Mint Choco Chip, Erdinger Beer, Adlay, Green Tea, Wine, Strawberry, Powdered Soybean, Classic Vanilla, Wasabi, Pomegranate, Pistachio, Kahlua & Makkoli, Cherry, Pineapple, Milk Tea, Black Sesame, Sea Salt Caramel, Apple Pie, Mango, Lemon, Dark Chocolate, and Strawberry.
  10. 쇼콜라윰 (Chocolat Yum) – Location: Hongdae – Chocolat Yum is quite possibly the cutest bakery in town. It is vintage and grandma-esque themed, and all the cookies are frosted quite beautifully. It’s almost as if it was straight out of a storybook.
