Star Wars Battlefront

As many fans are getting hyped about the new movie Star Wars The Force Awakens, a new game is coming out for the Star Wars franchise called Star Wars Battlefront. It will be compatible for the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Microsoft Windows. The game will be released on November 17, 2015 by EA Games. Kraemer student Joshua A. says, “I think that it would be pretty cool to play because the graphics are better and it is different from the last BattleFront. It is unique and and now we can play as if in the game itself.”

The game was introduced to the public at the E3 Convention in 2014, although the first gameplay of it was shown sometime during March 2015. Inside the game you can choose to play in either first person or third person as a trooper when traveling between the different planets from the Star Wars saga. A new planet, Sullet, has been added to introduce the new Battlefront, which sadly doesn’t come with a campaign mode but instead is filled with a missions system. There are selected missions you can choose to play like in other Starwars games and variety of “campaign” missions. During multiplayer, players are able to choose either a rebel soldier or imperial stormtrooper in order to kill the other side in battle. Players are able to play as characters from the movies such as Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo and more! Along with the map, there are Imperial Tie Fighters, AT-AT’s, along with many other vehicles and power-ups; while the rebel alliance has X-wings, Snowspeeders, and many more.

Based off of the beta that was released on Oct 8-Oct 13; masses of people played around the world for the beginning of a new game. They were able to play multiplayer and a variety of missions. Toward the last few weeks of 2015, the first DLC (downloadable content) for the game will be released called the “Battle of Jakku.” The Battle of Jakku is a story based mission from the movie of Star Wars the Force awakens.

When the game is released, high expectations have been set for the creators. They have a goal of selling around 13 million copies in 4 months (135 days). Initially, before the beta, they thought that they would sell at most 9 million but now their number has escalated by a great amount. The future of this game is on its way to be a well thought out and developed game that has a number of excited and hyped fans waiting for the date of November 17th.
