American Horror Story: Hotel

American Horror Story, a popular horror TV show, has been running on TV now for 4 seasons- 5, actually, if you count the latest one. The past seasons (Murder House, Asylum, Coven, and Freak Show) have all received amazing reviews – however, critics are not sure about this new season, Hotel.

According to many critics, this season is a flop – the plotline is very convoluted and the show overall is barf worthy. Vanity Fair published an article called, “American Horror Story: Hotel isn’t trash – It’s Garbage.” The Hollywood Reporter also claimed, “…Hotel will be a welcome return to oblique storytelling, loopy Freudian psychobabble and addiction undertones.” The Concourse, another notable online newspaper continued these bad reviews with, “…had to resist the urge to throw up four separate times last night. It’s up to you, whether that’s an endorsement or a warning.”

However, the first episode, released October 7th, is the second most watched episode on FX, falling behind the record setting American Horror Story: Freak Show’s debut. Fans love it – and so does Ashley H., a KMS 8th grader. According to her, “American Horror Story is my life… and this season looks like it will be my fave.”

American Horror Story: Hotel takes place in Los Angeles, CA, during our time (2015). Unfortunately, the cast does not include Jessica Lange, who was in all 4 past seasons. However, returners include Denis O’Hare, Sarah Paulson,  Lily Rabe, Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Chloë Sevigny, Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley, Mare Winningham, and Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Lady Gaga, Max Greenfield, and Naomi Campbell are the few NEW cast members.
