Fun Things to Do During Spring Break

Fun Things to Do During Spring Break

As KMS student Caitlin D. once said, “I don’t have anything to do on spring break!” During spring break, if you’re not going on vacation, you have a TON of time on your hands- so what do you do with it? Here are a bunch of fun ideas you can do with your friends, family, or yourself!

Places to go:

There are tons of places to go, some local, some far away, some expensive, some cheap. Either way, it’s super fun!

  • Go to some tumblr and hipster places!

      • Urth (Located in LA, it’s a really cool cafe)
      • Packing House (A kind of giant food court in Anaheim with small shops)
      • Irvine Spectrum (A shopping mall located in Irvine)

  • Try new food!

      • That new cuisine place down the street The beach!

  • A theme park

      • (Knotts Berry Farm, Soak City, Disneyland, California Adventure, Six Flags)

  • A zoo or an aquarium
  • Picnic!

      • Take out a blanket and some food and have a picnic, whether it be on your front lawn or at the park!

  • The Mall

      • There’s no crime in window shopping!

  • Laser tag, rollerblade, ice skating, bowling, etc.
  • (Always fun with friends!)

Things to do:

Some things to try out are these:

  • Make a Youtube Channel with your friends [or by yourself]
  • Have a movie day with your friends, some things you will need are:

      • Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Hulu
      • Tissues for Chick-Flicks (optional)
      • Popcorn (of course), icecream, candy, juice/soda, and/or pizza
      • A GOOD MOVIE!

  • Pool Day

      • Invite some friends over and go for a swim!

  • Day at the Spa

      • With your friends, this would be SUPER fun. Paint your nails, do facial treatments, treat yourself (and your friends)!

  • Camp in your backyard with your friends!

      • Have a bonfire
      • S’MORES!
      • Look at the stars

  • Do DIY Projects

      • Look some up online (Pinterest is fun)
      • Another good place is YouTube

  • BAKE!

      • Try coming up with your own recipes
      • Share the recipes and the final product

  • Photoshoot!
  • Go with your friends to a cute area [with good lighting] and take some photos!
  • Play some pranks (;

    • ALTERNATIVE – If someone uses Microsoft Word often, go into the computer and change the auto-correct feature so it misspells common words. Just open Word, choose “AutoCorrect Options” from the Tools menu, and have it replace common words like “the” and “and” with wacky words like “eggplant” or “Uranus.” Be creative. We’ve had great fun with good pranks like this one!
    • WORKING WORKING – A great mouse prank in the Control Panel. Under the “Mouse” settings’ “Pointer” tab, change the default mouse pointer to the hourglass. Suddenly, the system is always busy working! What’s happening!
    • EEEWW! – Next time someone’s having a warm drink drop 2-3 raisins in. They sink to the bottom and will be a nice last sip surprise! A 5 Star Good Pranks winner for any occasion!
    • There are tons of other pranks, just look up some good ones online.

Boredom Busters:

  • Stomp on little plastic ketchup packets.
  • Practice making fax and modem noises.
  • Highlight irrelevant information in scientific papers and send them to your parents or friends.
  • Finish all your sentences with the words “in accordance with prophesy.”
  • Signal that a conversation is over by clamping your hands over your ears and grimacing.
  • Holler random numbers while someone is counting.
  • Staple pages in the middle of the page.
  • Publicly investigate just how slowly you can make a croaking noise.
  • Honk and wave to strangers.
  • Decline to be seated at a restaurant, and simply eat their complimentary mints at the cash register.
  • Buy a large quantity of orange traffic cones and reroute whole streets.
  • Repeat the following conversation a dozen times.

“Never mind, it’s gone now.”

  • As much as possible, skip rather than walk.
  • Ask people what gender they are.
  • While making presentations, occasionally bob your head like a parakeet.
  • Sit in your front yard pointing a hair dryer at passing cars to see if they slow down.
  • Sing along at the opera.
  • Ask your family or friends mysterious questions and then scribble their answers in a notebook. Mutter something about “psychological profiles.”
