Barking Dog Warns Family About Fire at California Home

On Wednesday, January 21, 2015, in the middle of the night while the Mendez family was sleeping, a fire erupted in their home. Luckily, this big family of seven survived their escape without any injuries. According to www.yahoo.com, Vera Mendez (one of the family members in the fire),  says the only reason their family of six adults and a nine year old boy was able to escape quickly is because of their young but heroic dog. Foxy, their dog, barked “like crazy” she says, as an alarm for the fire that started around 2 A.M. Mendez’s son was the first to wake up and he rushed to inform the rest of the family as the fire took down three rooms of the home in Santa Ana. Approximately 50 firefighters stopped the flames in about 30 minutes but unfortunately, they couldn’t save the house. There is still no information on how or why the flames started but it is still under investigation. After hearing about this story, Kraemer student Chloe T., says that Foxy seems like a “really good doggie!”
