Inexpensive Holiday Gift Ideas (Perfect For A Students Budget!)

Christmas time is coming around- and you’re probably searching for what you want to get those special people in your life. Well look no further! Here is a list of perfect, inexpensive gifts for friends and/or family.

Not many people like receiving plain old regular socks for Christmas but fuzzy socks or boot socks can make great stocking stuffers!

This is a classic stocking stuffer, and there are a ton of cute holiday themed candy, cakepops, and general sweets. Spruce the candy up with stickers, pompoms, and other decorations (On the wrapper of course).

Keychains and the little things never get old, whether they are DIY or not. So stock up on these, or make your own!

Lipbalm is the perfect way to keep your lips stay unchapped and protected from cold air all winter long. We suggest EOS, Baby Lips, and Burts Bees.

Gift cards are an amazing way to tell someone you love them. We suggest Starbucks, Target, and Michaels.

Stuffed animals are a cute way to express affection. We suggest the classic teddy bear.

Cute phone cases would be a perfect little gift since many people today use their phones and they’d really appreciate it!

Bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and things like that is what a girl would love to see in her stocking and usually, Claire’s has inexpensive jewelry that is on sale.

Healthy Gift Basket

  • For a cool DIY Gym Bag, get a blank canvas tote (you can buy these at most craft stores and online). Whip out your Sharpies, rhinestones, puffy paint, and any other crafting material you think would help your tote bag shine. Decorate the bag to taste. DONE!
  • Buy a stainless steel/plastic water bottle to put in the gym bag. This too is customizable, so if you want you can draw on it or decorate it any way you would like
  • New Sports Equipment (i.e. new yoga mat, dance wear, knee pads, etc.)
  • Healthy snacks and drinks are great to include inside the bag. (Who doesn’t like food?)

Bedtime Package:

  • Christmas Themed Comfy Pajamas
  • [Aromatherapy] Candle
  • Tea (We suggest Chamomile as it helps with sleep)
  • Good books (We suggest Christmas themed books)

Movie Night Package:

  • Popcorn Packets
  • Candy
  • Christmas Movies (We recommend Nightmare Before Christmas, Shrek the Halls, Home Alone, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.)
  • DIY Mugs- First, buy blank mugs (These are available almost everywhere). Then get permanent markers and paint markers and draw on the mugs!
  • Hot Chocolate Packets
  • Peppermint Sticks
  • You can also include pre-payed movie tickets

DIY Hot Chocolate Ornament:

You will need: A clear ornament, hot chocolate powder, mini marshmallows, and candy cane bits or sprinkles

Optional: Markers

  1. Take the top off the ornament and put a little ball of tape on the bottom so the ornament doesn’t tip over as you fill it.
  2. Then, take a piece of paper and roll it into a cone shape to make a funnel. After that, fill the ornament to about halfway.
  3. Lastly, add sprinkles, candy cane bits, and mini marshmallows into the ornament.
  4. Remember that the person you are giving this to is special, so you can customize the ornament however you want. This also works with water, non metal charms, and glitter as a snowglobe ornament.

“52 Things I Love About You”

You need a deck of cards, hole punch, sticker labels, ribbon, colorful markers, and decorating supplies

  1. First, hole punch each and every card
  2. Then, use the sticker labels to label each card
  3. GET CREATIVE! Use your decorating supplies and colorful markers to write the things you love about that person.
  4. Use the ribbon to thread the cards together and you’re done!

Upcycled Reindeer Pillow

You need a blank pillow, felt or fleece, a glue gun, a pen/pencil/marker, and a pair of scissors.

  1. First, start by flipping your felt or fleece over and free-handing (drawing) a reindeer head on it or you can trace a picture with a pen, pencil, or marker.
  2. Cut the drawing of the deer head out and carefully place it on the pillow.
  3. Lastly, use a glue gun to glue the head onto the pillow. Use other things like rhinestones, puffy paint, and pompoms to personalize the pillow. DONE!

DIY Phone Case

You need several plain phone cases, studs/rhinestones, charms, and a hot glue gun.

  1. First, buy a plain phone case.
  2. Start by laying rhinestones or charms onto the case and if you are really gifted at freehanding, you can use permanent markers (Sharpie) to draw or write little messages on the case. (BE CREATIVE!)
  3. Lastly, glue down any charms or studs you have laid down.
