Alfonso Ribeiro, Dancing With the Stars Winner!


Alfonso Ribeiro, also known as Carlton from the popular 1990s show ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,’ won season 19 of ‘Dancing With the Stars along with his partner Witney Carson. During the season, Alfonso danced ‘The Carlton’ from his hit TV show. The audience loved it when he did the dance.  Alfonso was so happy he was moved to tears when he won the mirabal. Throughout the whole season, he was an audience favorite. The crowd absolutely loved him. During the season, the star injured himself by having major back pain. He thought he wouldn’t be able to move on. But during the two-part finale, Alfonso did a tap dance and and blew everyone’s minds. After the finale, Alfonso and Witney took the lead with a perfect score of 80. His competitors, Sadie Robertson had 78 and Janel Parrish had a score of 77.

Since the scores were so close together, the judges decided to make the top three create a fusion dance in less than 24 hours. Ribeiro and Carson did a Cha Cha-Argentine dance, Robertson and her partner Ballas did a Samba-quick step themed dance, and Parish and her partner Chmerkovskiy did a Foxtrot-paso doble dance. All the final competitors got perfect scores on their fusion dance, 120 points. But, added up all together, Janel Parrish and her partner had a 197, Sadie Robertson and her partner had a 198, and Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson got a perfect 200. This dance determined the winner for season 19.

In order to make season 19 possible, you would have to have professional dancer. The thirteen professional dancers teaching the celebrity cast how to bring heat were Mark Ballas, Cheryl Burke, Sharna Burgess, Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Allison Holker, Derek Hough, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd, Emma Slater and Karina Smirnoff.”Although many of the dancers got eliminated, they were all really good,” says 8th grader Kylie B.

Season 19 of Dancing With the Stars was such an exciting season. From Sadie Robertson from the show “Duck Dynasty,” to Alfonso Ribeiro from “The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.” The stars and the professional dancers were stunning. And the pro dancers made sure the stars looked good while dancing!
