Tiger Woods play golf

On February 23, 2021, Tiger Woods had a life-threatening car accident that nearly cost him his right leg. Through many ups and downs, Woods has successfully recovered. During the past year and the beginning of this year, he has been seen practicing and getting back on the golf course. In December of 2021, Woods played with his son, Charlie, in the PNC Championship and finished in second place. A few days before the Masters, he announced he would play in his 24th Masters and said he thought he could win. Although Woods did not finish as high as he hoped, finishing this tournament was great.

The Masters golf tournament is one of the most iconic tournaments in the PGA, the Professional Golfers’ Association. It was created in 1934, and ever since, it has been home to the greatest moments of the PGA. Bobby Wreck and Clifford Roberts founded the Augusta National Golf Club. Before the golf course was built, it was the Fruitland Nurseries. This resulted in each hole being named after a plant. Some examples include White Dogwood, Azalea, and Holly. This course’s most iconic series of holes is called “the Amen Corner.” It consists of the 11th, 12th, and 13th holes. It is known as a “death trap” to even the most skilled golfers, trapping them in different hazards.

On April 7, 2022, a smiling Tiger arrived at the tournament, thrilled to play. On the first day, Woods impressed many and defied the odds. He ended up being three back for the first round, at one-under-par. After the first day, Woods stated that he was pleased with how he played but still has a long way to go. The next day, Woods scored two over par but still was able to make the cut, which cuts off people who are over 50th place. Although he played well the first two days, his sore leg and weak fitness caught up with him. During the weekend rounds, he was seen limping on his right leg. Woods ended up playing six over par for both Saturday and Sunday, resulting in a total of 13 over par. Even though Woods was far back on the leaderboard, he says it was the greatest achievement for finishing.

Woods is expected to play in other tournaments in 2022. After finishing on Sunday, he announced that he would be playing in the British Open, taking place at St. Andrews from July 10th to 17th. He hopes to participate in a few other tournaments, such as the PGA Championship and US Open.

In conclusion, Tiger Woods has shown incredible effort throughout the Masters. His incredible comeback to the world of golf displayed his grit and determination. Hopefully, he will continue in many more tournaments to come.
