Kraemer Dance Team

Kraemer Dance Team

The Kraemer Dance Team, also known as KDT, is full of many talented and hard-working girls. This team is competitive based, and they travel around Southern California to attain many awards. Competition season is just around the corner, and all of the girls have been working hard on either their solos, small group, or large group. Filled with nearly 20 students, Kraemer Middle School’s very own dance team is exceptionally skilled and accomplished.

In May of 2021, Kraemer MS held auditions for its dance team. Out of the many people who have auditioned, only 17 dancers were accepted into the dance team. Many of the members included eighth-graders who have been on the team the past year. Still, one new addition to the team includes seventh-grader Hana T. Coaches of this dance team include Diana Hurtado, Jaclyn Peña, and Julia Sakakibara. She all used to be on the same team. Together, this trio makes the saying “teamwork makes the dream work” come true.

KDT’s first performance of the 2021-2022 school year was on November 19. Kraemer students were their first audience in over a year, and they performed at both seventh and eighth graders’ lunch and wowed the entire audience. They have also performed at Kraemer’s holiday assembly. This weekend, on February 5, the Kraemer Dance team will compete in their first competition at El Dorado High School. Every dancer has worked hard and perfected all of their dances. Hopefully, they will bring back some awards!

Not only does Kraemer’s dance team work hard, but they also have a lot of team bondings. They have a Christmas party during winter break where they exchange gifts, participate in many enjoyable activities, and just have fun. In the past, KDT has also had pool parties, held banquets in the beginning and end of the school year, and many more. Aside from dance, KDT bonds a lot throughout the year with different activities.

Kraemer’s dance team is filled with skilled and enthusiastic dancers. They have won numerous awards in the past, and they will hopefully continue to flourish over the years. KDT is especially one of a kind and never disappoints. Current KDT member Hana T. says, “I love being on the Kraemer Dance Team. I can’t wait for competition season and what it brings for us. I am so glad that being on this team made me meet lots of new people!”
