How significant is a healthy sleep schedule in one’s life?

Sleep is a naturally recurring state of mind and body when your body reduces muscle activity and inhibition of nearly all voluntary muscles during rapid eye movement sleep and reduces interactions with surroundings. Sleep can affect many things including breathing, blood pressure, and cardiovascular health.

Sleep has been proven to be a very important thing to people since it can affect people in various ways whether that be good or bad. Now, how much sleep you need varies depending on your age and other factors. Now research shows that children from the ages of 3-5 years old should get about 10-13 hours of sleep per day including naps. Kids from the age of 6-12 should get 9-12 hours of sleep per night, and kids from the ages of 13-18 should get about 8-10 hours of sleep per night for a good & healthy sleep schedule. What this does for growing children is improve their attention, behavior, learning, memory, and overall mental and physical health. But when kids don’t get enough sleep, it tends to lead to high blood pressure, obesity, and even depression. When people don’t get enough sleep it tends to make them easily irritable and stressed. Making sure you have a consistent healthy sleep schedule is good for your mental and physical health since when you mess your sleep schedule up, it will end up making it harder to get back into the swing of things. Having an irregular sleep schedule causes other problems other than making it harder to sleep, it has been proven to actually can cause sleep insomnia. 

In conclusion, a good sleep schedule is extremely significant towards one’s mental & physical health; without it, it would lead to high blood pressure, obesity, and maybe even depression and anxiety. Also, when getting a good night’s sleep it not only stops those negative effects on your body it creates good effects too, like for instance improved attention, learning, memory, brain development. But always make sure you have a consistent healthy sleep schedule since if you don’t get back into that healthy sleep schedule it will be harder than it should be.
