Dancing With the Stars, which began in 2005, has reached its thirtieth season. Over the course of sixteen years, 351 celebrities have competed on the show. Distinguished performers like Donny Osmond and Zendaya have competed on the show, along with celebrities who no one would think would dance, such as Carole Baskin and Buzz Aldrin. It is always entertaining to watch the stars shine on the dance floor. Season 30 will be a breakthrough season, with new professionals, pairs, and panel.

This season, fifteen celebrities are starting in the ballroom. Five actors, three athletes, two singers, two social media influencers, one fitness trainer, one bachelor, and one Miss USA are competing for the Mirrorball Trophy, the reward for winning Dancing with the Stars.

Amanda Kloots, a Broadway actress, has experience with dancing from her many shows and is a contender this season. Brian Austin Green, an actor from Beverly Hills, 90210, is currently dating one of the professional dancers on Dancing with the Stars and now gets to be on the show with her. Martin Kove, who starred in The Karate Kid and Cobra Kai, Melora Hardin, most known for her role in The Office, and Christine Chiu, a budding actress from Bling Empire, are also contestants.

The athletes competing this season are NBA player Iman Shumpert, WWE wrestler Mike ‘The Miz’ Mizanin, and Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee. Iman Shumpert has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Sacramento Kings, and more. He is currently playing for the Brooklyn Nets. Mike Mizanin, better known as The Miz, is a professional wrestler for WWE. No wrestlers or basketball players have won Dancing With the Stars, but maybe one of these two will change that. Suni Lee, a gymnast who had won a gold medal in the 2020 Olympics, can incorporate her skills and tricks on the dance floor. She is the second-youngest competitor this season.

Jimmie Allen, a country singer who started on the show American Idol, will be competing. There will also be a Spice Girl on the dance floor this season. Melanie C, Sporty Spice, will be the second member of the British girl group to compete on Dancing With the Stars. Influencers Jojo Siwa and Olivia Jade Giannulli are also going to be on the show. Jojo Siwa, who made her debut on Dance Moms, is known for dancing and has a leg-up on the other celebrities. She is the youngest competitor in Season 30. Olivia Jade was in hot water after a school scandal was revealed to the public, and she wants to redeem herself on Dancing With the Stars. She has hopes that people will see her in a new light.

Cody Rigsby, a famed Peloton instructor, is going to be dancing as well. Along with him are Matt James, the most recent bachelor (from The Bachelor), and Kenya Moore, star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and crowned Miss USA in 1993.

Fans have been speculating about a certain pair in Season 30, and their theories have been answered. Brian Austin Green is currently in a relationship with Sharna Burgess, a professional dancer on the show. People have been eager to know if they would be partners, and it has been confirmed that the couple will be dancing together. They will definitely not be lacking chemistry.

In the show, there are some pairs which tend to get certain types of celebrities. For example, Sasha Farber, who has danced with gymnasts like Simone Biles and Mary Lou Retton, will be dancing with Suni Lee, who is also a gymnast. Something that changed was Alan Bersten’s pattern in partners. He has been paired with young, social media personalities Alexis Ren, Hannah Brown, and Skai Jackson for the past three seasons. His partner this year is Amanda Kloots, a seasoned Broadway star. Though she may be different from Bersten’s previous partners, she could go far in the competition with a partner like him and the talent and experience she has with performing.

This season’s panel will also be changing. In Season 29, Len Goodman, one of the Dancing with the Stars hosts, was in the United Kingdom and could not leave due to the COVID-19 restrictions. Derek Hough, a professional dancer who used to be a professional for the show, was the third judge to fill his place. Now that Season 30 has come around, the panel has been expanded from three to four judges. Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman, and Derek Hough will be on the panel for Season 30.

Finally, the biggest milestone this season is that there will be a same-gender pair. Jojo Siwa came out as gay in January, and Dancing With the Stars seems to be supportive of her. She was partnered with Jenna Johnson. They will be the first same-gender pair to compete on the show.

Dancing With the Stars plays on ABC at 8 p.m. western time on Mondays. With an incredible cast, judges, crew, musicians, and host Tyra Banks, Season 30 is bound to be amazing.
