Biography of Dr. Jill Biden

She is a mother, grandmother, teacher, wife, and now the first lady of the United States of America. Dr. Jill Tracy Jacobs Biden is Joseph Robinette Biden Jr.’s wife. Yes, this means that she is the president’s wife, but she uses her successes and experiences to change society for the better. Dr. Biden was the second lady during the Obama Administration and left her mark as she advocated for cancer, education, and military families. She has now moved into the White House and will, no doubt, continue to leave an excellent reputation behind.

Dr. Biden was born in Hammonton, New Jersey, on June 3, 1951. She grew up with four sisters in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Upper Moreland High School, she got her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Delaware. The First Lady started to teach English, reading, and writing but continued her own education to gain her first master’s degree. She didn’t stop after achieving that, though. Dr. Biden juggled raising her family while earning her two master’s degrees and one Doctorate of Education. She is currently a resident of the White House, but that does not stop her from continuing to educate others. She will continue speaking out on the importance of education and being a writing professor at Northern Virginia Community College. 

First Lady Jill Biden used to be the Second Lady while her husband, President Biden, was former President Obama’s vice president. During this presidential administration, she led a Community College to Career Bus Tour and hosted a White House Summit on Community Colleges. Dr. Biden also advocates for cancer as she lost her stepson, Beau, to brain cancer. Four of her close friends were also diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Due to this, Jill and her husband founded the Biden Cancer Initiative. In addition to these important causes, Dr. Biden supports and advocates for military families. She is the daughter of a Navy Signalman and was also Major Beau Biden’s stepmother. Dr. Jill Biden and Michelle Obama launched Joining Forces to support military members, their families, and veterans. Along with this, the English professor wrote. Don’t Forget, God Bless Our Troops,  a children’s book. It shows the story of her stepson’s deployment through her granddaughter, Natalie’s point of view.
