The PS4 Pro was the best selling console of 2019. Hopefully, its successor will be just as, if not more, popular.

The Playstation 5, something people have been anticipating for almost the whole decade, is finally being released to the public at the end of this year. Its competition, Xbox Series X also being released around the same time.

Although the model of the PS5 was posted by a person who worked at Playstation, it hasn’t been officially released by Playstation yet. There have been mixed opinions about the design seen in the leaked image. Some say it is more of a retro-style model, while others think that it is a more futuristic look. Either way, it is still representing the future of Playstation and could represent a new way of gaming.

The reason that the PS5 is trending is that they just released the new logo which looks identical to the PS4 but has a 5 instead of a 4. This new Playstation will have multiple exciting, yet expected, features in it such as 3D audio, and a solid-state drive which means faster loading and better internet connection when it comes to online play. Significantly better graphics have also been something that has been hyped up a lot.

A better VR (Virtual Reality) system has been added which has become increasingly popular over the past few years. People have begun playing online shooter games on Virtual Reality and it has been starting a new genre of gaming. Youtubers playing games in this genre have been gained millions of subscribers. In the next few years, people are going to start using Virtual Reality more than ever before. Rumors say that PSVR (Playstation Virtual Reality) could be taking its next step by making PSVR 2 around the same time as the PS5.

The price is debatable. Some people believe that it will be the same as the PS4 and PS4 Pro at $399. Others think it could be priced at $499. The model as said before isn’t the most liked design, but it does have some pretty cool features. It has multiple features such as, “On/Standby, Reset, Eject (for the double layer 100GB-reading Blu-ray drive), System Initialisation and Network initialization, all on the front left. There are also a number of status lights, numbering ‘0’ to ‘7’, which likely relate to CPU cores engaged, but this could also be a status light for controllers connected.”

Overall, the PS5 is something that many people have been anticipating over the past few years and is finally coming. This holiday season, many people will be getting PS5’s for Christmas.
