In January 2017, the inauguration of Donald Trump took place, and he was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States. Many people were not very happy about his presidency, which led to a lot of backlash about someone with no political experience running the country. Now, those efforts are being made even bigger. A few months after Trump was sworn in, people of the United States began to rally up to try and get Trump impeached. Recently, those efforts have been getting even more serious, and many sources show this.

According to a poll by The Washington Post, 49% of all adults in the United States said they support the impeachment of Trump. Another news source, Fox News, did a poll, and theirs had 51% voting for Trump’s impeachment and his removal from office. Yet another news source, PBS News, ran a poll, and they found that 52% of Americans supported the impeachment inquiry by the House of Representatives, 86% of the Democratic community, 9% of the Republican population, and 54% of Independents. According to an article by TIME.com, “The White House declared Tuesday it will not cooperate with what it termed the ‘illegitimate’ impeachment probe by House Democrats, sharpening the constitutional clash between President Donald Trump and Congress.” The President himself will not cooperate with being impeached. Many people say the reasons they don’t like Trump are because they think he’s racist, ignorant, and makes terrible decisions. So, what did Trump do to deserve all this hate and criticism? As it turns out, he’s made a lot of very controversial decisions.

When Trump first became President, things were already not looking good. His first controversial decision was something he had been saying he would do since he was still running for President, which is building a wall. Trump had been saying that we need to build a border wall between the United States and Mexico because many immigrants from the country had been coming into the country illegally. Trump thought that the only way to stop this would be to build a 30 to 50 feet tall wall that would block people out. This was one of the most infamous decisions in his political career, and even though he had been bluffing so much about it, almost nothing has been built yet.

Another shocking thing Trump has done is to start disagreements with the country of North Korea, which is a very isolated area from the rest of the world. Trump would insult Kim Jong-un, the leader of the aforementioned country. He would also call him names such as “Rocket Man”. Eventually, however, Trump and Kim Jong-un met on June 12, 2018, in Singapore, and finally sorted things out. All in all, Trump has many reasons to be impeached; the only thing that’s left is to see if the government agrees with the people.
