Born in 1998, March 14, Wardell Stephen Curry II is a 31-year-old professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors. Ever since he was a boy, Curry dreamed of playing basketball like his father, Dell Curry. This dream became a reality for him, and Steph, short for Stephen, has led his team to three out of five basketball championship wins.

Although it isn’t the best major college basketball program, Curry attended Davidson College. Even though it was a small program,  Curry did stand out and was noticed while playing in the men’s top basketball championship tournament. He entered the NBA draft in 2009, and just like that, he was playing with the Warriors as the starting point guard. He was the seventh overall pick for the Warriors.

Steph has led his team to many victories. He is known as an MVP (most valuable player), not just because of his skill, but his leadership and perseverance in everything he does. Stephen also led his team to the best season in league history, in 2015-2016. A knee injury in 2017-2018 left Curry out for 51 games in the season. However, he made a comeback in the second round of the playoffs. His streak lived on until further injuries forced Curry to sit on the bench and lose against the Toronto Raptors in the finals.

Curry currently lives in San Francisco, California with his beautiful wife, Ayesha, and his three loving children Riley, Canon, and Ryan. They just recently had Canon Curry on July 2,  2018. Stephen Curry is a loving father that always wants his kids to be confident in themselves, and he wants them to know that being unique is okay.

When Steph isn’t playing basketball, he enjoys playing golf with his family. Stephen was born in Akron, Ohio, but grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. Curry is a very religious man who praises God.  His most inspirational bible verse is from Corinthians 13:8 which states “Love never failed to be” which he has as a tattoo. Curry currently holds the record for the most three-pointers made in a single game. Stephen’s jersey number is 30 in honor of his dad, Dell. His father also had the number 30 when he played during his career. Steph’s net worth is almost 60 million dollars! Curry was going to sign with Nike, however, they got his name wrong in a meeting,o, he signed with Under Armor instead.

Because of Stephen Curry’s hard work and determination, he has reached his goals and has become an inspiration to all, as well as a basketball prodigy.
