In 2007, Shaun Livingston’s basketball game changed completely changed. It was stolen. He picked up the ball and headed for the fastbreak score. He went up for the lay-up but was contested by a defender trying to block the shot. He landed awkwardly. It was one of the most painful and worst injuries of all time. He dislocated a bone in his left knee called the patella. It ruined his career, and he has never been the same. He missed the rest of his current season and all of the seasons after that. This injury took him about a year and a half to recover before he was able to return to the court. Sometimes he wonders what his career would be like if he didn’t injure that left knee. This whole accident and landing changed his entire career and how he saw the game of basketball. On ESPN, they would have a warning before they showed the footage of Shaun Livingston’s injury. It was that disturbing! With this being one of the worst injuries ever to occur in the game of basketball, it is also one of the greatest comebacks ever.

Shaun Livingston is a three-time NBA Champion, winning in 2015, 2017, and 2018. This didn’t just happen out of thin air. He has bounced around from team to team for five years before he found his home in Golden State. In only five years he played on the Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder, Washington Wizards, Charlotte Bobcats, Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Brooklyn Nets. That’s seven NBA teams in just five years, which is insane. Nobody in the NBA wanted him anymore or saw him with much value. This injury ruined his career, and he hasn’t been as explosive and energetic as he was in his prime.

Shaun Livingston has been asked a series of questions throughout his whole career about his injury. He has answered them with full honesty, and he felt calm about the situation. He says that he has never watched footage of his injury and that he has only seen pictures. It’s a good thing not to watch the footage because then you begin to feel discouraged about your basketball game. It is incredible to see such a talented player like Shaun Livingston have such a horrible tragedy to happen in his career and then be able to bounce back. What is even more awesome is that he was able to win three championships after that. It’s going to be amazing to see what Shaun Livingston has to offer as the Warriors play the Clippers in the first round of the 2019 season playoffs.Kneeerts R.
